Egoza Vehicle-Deployed Mobile Barrier

Vehicle-deployed mobile barrier

Egoza mobile barrier for vehicle deployment is a pyramid-shaped structure consisting of several concertina coils pre-mounted together. It can be deployed directly from a vehicle or trailer, making it ideal for quickly establishing long barriers without leaving the vehicle. This mobile Egoza system is designed to rapidly block roads, access points, and open areas. It can be deployed in just a few minutes to form a continuous protection line several hundred meters long.

Design and Operating Principle

The system is based on a pyramid-shaped structure similar to a stationary barrier, but pre-assembled and stored inside a transport cassette. Inside the cassette are three or six Egoza coils of different diameters, linked together. The structure remains compressed until deployment.

During vehicle or trailer movement, the barrier unrolls automatically under inertia and tension, laying itself out evenly along the ground. Tension cables and lateral supports are used to maintain shape and prevent overstretching.

Areas of Application

This type of barrier is actively used by security forces, border services, military units, and police. It is particularly effective for temporary perimeters, checkpoints, convoy protection, and crowd control during unrest or natural disasters.

The mobile Egoza system enables deployment without exiting the vehicle, which is critical in hazardous or unstable zones and when rapid response is essential.

Advantages and Key Features

The primary advantage is deployment speed. A single unit can be laid out to cover 200–500 meters within minutes. Once deployed, the structure retains its form and provides robust perimeter protection.

Additional benefits include no manual labor, high deployment density, and reusability. The barrier can be quickly removed and redeployed when the operation ends or the position changes.

Materials and Specifications

The structure uses standard Egoza concertina coils with diameters ranging from 600 to 1250 mm and razor tape 0.5 mm thick. The connecting elements and support cables are made of galvanized steel. Deployment and fixing mechanisms are installed on a vehicle or trailer with a platform.

Integration with Other Protection Systems

The vehicle-deployed mobile barrier can be part of a multi-layered defense system. It is often used in conjunction with mobile frame barriers to double perimeter lines and with stationary pyramid barriers in areas that require enhanced protection.
